Information regarding book and rights

There is evidence of an unbreakable bond that existed between the inhabitants of the Helladic lands and the sea since the Neolithic Epoch, with information on the existence of organized naval forces first appearing during the Bronze Age. This development was precipitated by the need to protect the shores from pirates, as well as by the development of a vast trading network which also required the protection of its sea routes and merchant stations. These fleets progressively disappeared with the fall of the Achaioi and the
financial and cultural slump that followed. As economy started to bounce back, the fleets began to reappear in an attempt to fight the piracy that flourished in the Aegean Sea, and at the peak of the economic growth during the 8th century BCE, competition at sea in conjunction with the attempt to control sea routes led to naval conflict and to the need for orderly structured marine forces.
